n690340922_2445804_615Hansel Koh is a 24 year old Game programmer from Singapore, he began his interest in computing during his secondary school days and had his 1st taste of programming during his studies in Info-Communication Technology at Institute of Technical Education after completed his secondary education. And then on he began to build up interest in programming and soon moved on to game development on mobile phones.

He graduated from Institute of Technical Education in 2005 with Nitec with Merit in Info-Communications Technology, and was awarded Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal for ITE’s most outstanding graduates in academic year 2004/2005. After which he graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic with Diploma of Merit in Digital Entertainment Technology, and had acquired knowledge of game developments in both technical and design.

Before serving National Service, he worked as a game programmer in Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab on CarneyVale: Showtime had won first place in the Microsoft Dream Build Play 2008 Challenge, also announced as one of the finalist for the 11th IGF Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Gamasutra has also named the game the top XBOX Community Game for the year of 2008.

Hansel also enjoys playing clarinet during his free time for the past 10 years. He is a member of the Mus’Art Wind Orchestra since year 2004.

As of current, Hansel is under MDA’s Media Education Scholarship and pursing B.sc Real-Time Interactive Simulation in Digipen Institute of Technology in Singapore.
